PEACE CORPS MASTER’S INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM IN INTERNATIONAL FORESTRY

Program Requirements

PCMI students take a focused curriculum of study including a full 27 month tour of service as a Peace Corps volunteer. The academic component of the Forestry PCMI program can be completed during 4 academic quarters of study. Incoming students have the option of pursuing a general Masters of Forest Resources (MFR) degree or the more rigorous and professionally accredited Masters of Forestry (MF) degree. The choice of masters program would depend on a student’s academic background and their future career goals. The first year of academic coursework must be completed prior to leaving for Peace Corps service. During their Peace Corps volunteer service, each student should remain in regular communication with their faculty advisor regarding their degree project. Upon the completion of their Peace Corps service, Forestry PCMI students return to the College of Forest Resources for a final quarter to complete their coursework, prepare their professional paper, and help to mentor the incoming class of Forestry PCMI students.
