HONORS PROGRAMS

Honors programs are available in both undergraduate majors in the College of Forest Resources, Environmental Science and Resource Management (ESRM) and Paper Science and Engineering (PSE). There are two routes through the program — UW "College Honors" or "With Distinction.”

UW College Honors. Students entering the UW may be admitted in a competitive process into the University Honors Program, a four-year program in which students complete both general education and major requirements utilizing the Honors Curriculum. These students become candidates for the degree “With College Honors.” If these students declare a major in the College of Forest Resources, they may achieve graduation with UW Honors by completing the requirements for either the ESRM or PSE honors programs.

With Distinction. Students in the College of Forest Resources not choosing the University Honors Program may choose to complete departmental-level honors and receive a degree “With Distinction” in the ESRM or PSE major by completing 10 credits of honors work. Students must have a cumulative minimum of 3.3 and a minimum CFR GPA of 3.5 to be eligible.

To apply for Honors in the College of Forest Resources, email cfradv@u.washington.edu or call
