Trees in our Environment

The principles and concepts of biology are examined through examples of tree form and function. Topics include: evolution and adaptation in changing environments, ecology of Pacific Northwest forests, awareness of trees as an integral part of the human environment. opportunities to learn 50-60 trees that occur in forests and urban areas of the Pacific NorthwestLectures, individual projects, optional fieldtrips, and field investigations at the Washington Park Arboretum provide . An important goal of the course is to provide you with baseline information that will allow you to increase your knowledge and enjoyment of trees for the rest of your life.
