College of Forest Resources

Denman Forestry Issues Series presents:

"In Support of Washington's Non-Industrial Private Forest Landowners"

Monday, May 20, 2002, 10AM to 1PM,
Student Union Building (HUB) Room 106B
University of Washington, Seattle, WA

Most recently revised on August 2, 2002.

As the Forest and Fish Rule, passed by the Washington State Legislature, reaches its one-year anniversary, private forest landowners in Washington are laboring to understand and comply with the law. State agencies entrusted with the responsibility of interpreting environmental laws and creating regulations have only started to bring the intent of new laws into practice. In concert with the recent evolution of environmental regulations, several state and federally funded programs, designed to support private landowners, have taken shape. A panel of speakers representing these programs will be featured:

Washington Forest Stewardship Program
Rural Technology Initiative
Small Forest Landowner Office
Washington State University Cooperative Extn.
