Curriculum Committee
Mission:
The Curriculum Committee has the following regular responsibilities:
1. Overseeing the undergraduate and graduate programs of the School.
2. Reviewing and approving all planned changes to courses and programs before those requiring faculty action are brought before the faculty for final action.
3. Periodically, reviewing the School's academic programs of the School to ensure that they are current and appropriate to the needs of the clients served.
Specific charges for the 2010-2011 academic year include:
- From the perspective of ABB:
- Provide a clear interpretation of how and from where the School derived its ABB allocation.
- Given 1.a., provide the trend line for each factor for the last five years.
- Given your analysis under 1.b., provide recommendations for altering or improving tend lines.
- Explore the use of peer TAs and suggest appropriate courses (and associated training).
Specific charges for the 2009–2010 academic year include:
- Provide a transparent set of criteria for allocating teaching assistants.
- Review UW models for use of peer TAs and develop a mechanism for SEFS to train peer TAs that recognizes the need to provide and use credit options.
- Evaluate tradeoffs among maintaining SEFS majors, generating SCH, and sustaining student field and laboratory experiences.
- Explore use of volunteers to assist with sustaining student field and laboratory experiences.
