Harrington Subject: [Faccfr] Organization at the University of Washington Botanic Gardens Dear All: Interim Associate Director Sandra Lier continues her 40% appointment as the Interim Director at UWBG. Given the reduction in staff and administration at UWBG, I have worked with Sandra and I am pleased to announce the following: ... the appointment of Fred Hoyt and Sarah Reichard to the newly created positions of Associate Directors of the UW Botanic Gardens as of Sept. 1. Fred will continue in his role managing the horticulture, facilities, rentals, capital planning, curation, and representing UWBG in the SR520 negotiations. Fred will also take on the signage and manage the public relations for UW Botanic Gardens. Sarah will continue with her faculty responsibilities as well as overseeing the Hyde Herbarium, Rare Plant Care, curation and will now take on the Adult and Youth education programs. The Associate Directors will co-chair the Curation Committee and will represent UW Botanic Gardens with the School of Forest Resources and the College of the Environment. As Associate Directors, they will report to Executive Director Sandra Lier. Both individuals have accepted these responsibilities without any change in appointment or salary in keeping with the present economic circumstances. I am particularly pleased with the energy and expertise that both individuals will bring to their respective assignments.
