Pack Forest News

Over 250 members of the Washington Farm Forestry Association (WFFA) and the general public turned out on April 27, 2002, despite pouring rain, to view demonstrations and hear discussions on innovations in forestry and to learn about new laws and regulations that affect small forest landowners in Washington State. A number of CFR staff and faculty participated in the event, as well as staff from the WA Department of Natural Resources and WSU Extension. To view photos of the field day see: http://www.packforest.org/wffa.

Pack Forest Staff were saddened by the passing of Mildred (Mid) Christian last week at age 88.  Mid cooked at Pack Forest for many years and was an endeared, long-time resident of Eatonville, WA. A pleasant disposition and helpfulness to anyone in need were her trademarks—students, young and old, quickly recognized that Mid was someone in whom to confide, seek advice, and just talk to.  She helped to make Eatonville a better place and will be missed.
