The Forest Club Room can only be used for CFR student-related events to which CFR students are invited. The only exception to this rule is the CFR Dean’s office, which may occasionally use the room for administrative meetings.

The sponsors of events and activities held in the Forest Club Room MUST either be students, staff, or faculty of the CFR or DIRECTLY involve same in an event or activity AND originate from a campus unit with which the CFR has an ON-GOING and productive cooperative or collaborative relationship. - Dean Bare

Officially recognized student organizations are given first priority for reservation of this room. With the exception of activities mandated otherwise by the Dean of the College, all scheduled events will be open to any member of the college community.

Reservations are taken through email and facilitated by web pages containing monthly planning calendars where posted events will appear. To determine if the room is available and to request a reservation, click on the appropriate month below.

THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER IS TO THE RIGHT OF THE FIREPLACE.

Fireplace Rules:
- Open & close the flue.
- Receive permission from the Building Coordinator for use.
- No wood is to be kept in the room.
- Do not burn any refuse.
- Do not start fire with lighter fluid or other flammable liquids.
- No combustible materials within three feet of the hearth.
- Always use the screen.
- The person responsible for starting the fire must stay until it is completely extinguished.

ORIGIN OF THE FOREST CLUB ROOM

The following is a transcript of the document that chartered this room and its use in 1925.

University of Washington Forest Club

Whereas, it has pleased Mrs. Agnes H. Anderson in her great kindness, and as a fitting memorial to her late husband, Alfred H. Anderson, to present to the University of Washington, a magnificent building to serve as a home for the School of Forestry, and

Whereas, in the planning and equipment of the building she has shown special consideration in providing a room for the sole use and comfort of the Univesity of Washington Forest Club, therefore

Be it resolved, that this Club, at its first meeting in the new Club Room, wishes to express its sincere gratitude and thanks to Mrs. Anderson for her kind consideration and forethought, and orders that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Anderson as a small mark of its appreciation and everlasting good wishes.

A generous gift to the College of Forest Resources enabled a significant refurbishment of the Forest Club Room in _____ (year).

In recognition of their support of Forest Resources students, the University of Washington has named this room the Byron and Alice Lockwood Forest Club Room.
