| Exams: There will be two midterm exams.
Each will be worth the same number of points. The first midterm is Feb.
4.The second midterm will be given March 11, the last day of classes.
The format of the exams will be a mix of definitions and examples, short answers, and
long answers. You will also be asked questions about figures or diagrams presented on the test.

Participation 10%
Weekly Assignments 30%
Final Assignment 20%
Midterm exam 20%
Final exam 20%
Total 100%
Final grades are assigned according to the following
scale:
4.0 = 95%
3.0 = 85%
2.0 = 75%
1.0 = 65%
0.8 = 60%
Final Assignment: Due Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at 4:30.
Contingencies: Excused absences and prior notification are required to
receive make-up exams or delay assignments. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
to let us know you will be unable to take an exam or turn in an assignment.
Make-up exams may be written or oral, at the instructor's discretion.
Assignments turned in late for unexcused reasons will be accepted, but
discounted 10% for being late plus 10% for every additional week they are late.
