Purpose of Class: This is an introductory course on the principles and techniques which can be used in propagating plants. It is my intention to help you develop an appreciation for both the 'art and science of plant propagation'. The class is intended to open resources for you, by both providing the possible techniques and the reasons why techniques may or may not work. You will be given the opportunity to explore the literature of the field, and to apply this information to a wide array of plants as you try to propagate them in the future. It is assumed that you have some basic understanding of plant materials, and principles of plant botany and growth. We will try to give you as many practical experiences as possible in a 3-hr. course.

The class is a mix of lectures, labs (hands-on and demonstration types), and one field trip. There is one project due at the end of the quarter.
