Configure Dreamweaver to connect to CFR web server

First time using Dreamweaver to set up a website

  1. Open DreamWeaver, go to the "Site" dropdown menu
  2. Click "New Site..."
  3. Verify that under Category, "Local Info" is selected
  4. Fill in "Site Name" (The name can be whatever you want since this will be on your C drive)
  5. Browse to your "Local Root Folder"
  6. Verify that ""Refresh Local File Automatically" is selected
  7. Verify that "Cache: Enable Cache" is checked
  8. Click "OK"

  1. Then, go to "Remote Info"
  2. For Access:, select "Local/Network"
  3. Browse to S:\websites\CFRWeb\Yoursite
  4. Verify that "Refresh Remote File Automatically" and "Automatically upload files to server on side" are checked
  5. Or, to edit the configuration:

  6. Open DreamWeaver, go to the "Site" dropdown menu
  7. Click "Edit Sites"
  8. Verify that the site is selected and click "Edit"
  9. Verify that under Catagory, "Remote Info" is selected
  10. Verify that for Access:, "Local/Network" is selected
  11. Browse to S:\websites\CFRWeb\Yoursite
  12. Click "OK"

This will improve performance for the "Get" and "Put" functions.
