To connect to the CFR File Server

  1. You must be running Mac OS 10.x. If you are not sure which version you have, click on the 'Apple' menu and select 'About This Mac'.
  2. You must have Dave 5 or 6 installed. We have a webpage with more information on Dave.
  3. Click on the 'Go' menu in the Finder, and select 'Connect To Server'.
  4. You must specify the server name and share name. In the address field of the connect to server window type:  "cifs://<server>/<share>" where <server> is the name of the server you wish to connect to and <share> is the name of the share you wish to connect to. If you don't know which server and share you need contact CFRIT for assistance.
  5. *Optional* To make it easier to connect to this share next time, select the icon for the share that appeared on your desktop, and select 'Add to Favorites' from the file menu. Then the share will appear in the 'Go' menu under 'Favorites'.
