To Connect your Macintosh to a CFR Network Printer:
- You must be running Mac OS 10.x. If you are not sure which version
you have, click on the 'Apple' menu and select 'About This Mac'.
- You must have Dave 5 or 6 installed. We have a webpage
with more information on Dave.
- Open Print Center, which is located in Macintosh_HD/Applications/Utilities/
where Macintosh_HD is the drive where OS X resides. (In OS 10.3, the
Print Center is also named Printer Setup Utility.)
- If you are prompted with a message saying '…you have no printers
… Would you like to add one?', select Add. If you have printers
configured already, click 'Add' on the toolbar at the top of the Printer
List window.
- Select 'Dave Printing' from the Menu that appears.
- Select 'CFR' in the left side of the list, then 'CFRBLD170EPRN1'
from the right side of the list.
- Input your CFR login and password and enter 'CFR' in the Domain field.
- Select the printer you want on the right side of the selection window.
Your 'Printer's Address:' should now look something like: "cifs://CFRBLD170EPRN1/<PRINTER>"
where <PRINTER> is the name of the printer you are adding. Typically
this will be the building and room number where the printer is located.
- Under "Printer Model:", select the manufacturer of your
printer. If you do not see your printer listed after choosing the manufacturer,
try selecting 'ESP' under Printer Model, and look at that list for something
that matches your printer. You will find Hewlett-Packard Deskjet printers
under ESP rather than under HP.
- Click the 'Add' button. The printer name should now appear in the
Printer List window. Your printer is now configured. You can quit the
Print Center and begin printing.
