CURRENT PROJECTS INCLUDE:
Paleo Investigations of Climate and Ecosystem Archives (PICEA):
Holocene+ climate, vegetation, and fire history from a
network of lakes in the southern Brooks Range, AK
Charcoal Simulation Model
(CharSiM):
CharSiM is an effort to improve our understanding of
sediment-charcoal records by explicitly modeling fire regimes, charcoal
dispersal, secondary charcoal transport, and sampling.
RECENT PROJECTS INCLUDE:
-
Size
and frequency of Holocene fires in a temperate rain forest, Vancouver
Island
- Calibration of pollen-vegetation relationships in arctic Alaska
- Species distribution, climate change, and disturbance on the Mt. Constitution Plateau, Orcas Island, Washington
- Identifying disturbance signatures in small hollow sediments: the potential for obtaining long-term, high-resolution forest histories
- Post-glacial
history of sub-alpine forests, Olympic Peninsula, Washington
- Late-Holocene
vegetation changes in a subalpine meadow in the Olympic Mountain,
Washington
- Holocene climate-landform-vegetation interactions near Toolik Lake, Alaska
- Late Holocene vegetational changes in arctic Alaska
- Late Quaternary environmental history of the Alaskan North Slope
