Elections for new SAF student chapter officers were held.

New President is Phil Chi. CONGRATULATIONS!!
Vice Chair will remain OPEN, though Derek, Mark and Paul are all candidates for general "helping out"

Outreach Coordinator is Edie
Treasurer is Michael Andreu

IMPORTANT: New officers new to submit a proposed 2003-2004 budget to the Dean's office before the end of this quarter.

Quebec/World Forestry Congress Trip

Edie, Michael Andreu, Anne Andreu, Morris and Elaine are all interested in using the funds from the Dean's office to attend the meeting in September in Quebec.
Ara will hold the back up position, and Ara is looking into other funding sources, but plans to attend as well. UW SAF students will submit a budget to the Dean's office to be appropriated the funds.

Board of Natural Resources, meetings in Olympia

Next meeting is Tuesday, June 1st in Olympia. The board will be discussing the calculated sustainable harvest levels.
Ara plans to attend. Anyone needing to coordinate transportation to attend the meeting should contact Alicia.

Discussion of SAF accreditation at UW and other state universities
Ara mentioned that UC Berkeley has experienced great changes in their College of Natural Resources and Forestry Department. The UW CFR may be experiencing similar changes and we need students to be actively voicing their concerns, especially about maintaining SAF accreditation as a Forestry School.

Green River Community College SAF Meeting in June

The Green River Community College SAF chapter will hold their meeting in June. UW students who are still around should try to attend. More details will be mailed out next month.
