SFR Computing Policy Addittions

SFR to Require Password Changes Effective Nov. 24

There have been a number of recent security incidents at SFR, including the highjacking of one of our computers for use in a password hacking scheme. In response to increasing security threats we must ask that everyone using the SFR computing environment update their passwords on a regular basis.

SFR Computing Policy is amended to require that passwords be changed every 6 months. No one will be denied access to the computing environment as a result of this change in policy, but if you haven’t changed your password during the past 6 months, you will have to change your password to gain access to the system.
